Hello friends! We are happy to send out a new newsletter as we wrap up our summer and head back in the fall. This is the perfect time to check out all of the new fabric, kits, and notions we have gotten since you have last visited us. You still have time to get the supplies you need for those summer projects, you want to finish before those months are over. Many of you have noticed, we are keeping you updated daily with what is new in the store on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. We also have giveaways and special deals on social media that you won't want to miss. If you are not following, please find us! CLASSES and EVENTS: Did you know?? Most classes have Zoom capability- call us for more info if you cannot make the class in person! Tossed Nine Patch Quilt- August 14 This class is a great one for beginners and experienced quilters alike! We will be going over basic piecing with lots of tricks and tips. This one looks more complicated than it really is! We will also be teaching you how to make impactful borders! All ages welcome! Sign up here
Fiesta Friday- August 29 Fiesta Friday is back! Come join us for a fun filled evening where you will learn a new technique. Cyndy will be teaching us how to make this adorable tote bag with a bow. Kits will include all materials- you bring your machine and thread! Dinner is provided. Sign up here
The Beginning Quilting class at Main Street Quilting Company is created to introduce you to the basics of quilting in a five week series. This class is great for beginners and experienced sewists alike. Gwen will show you all the tricks to getting great results from your quilting. We will create a 5 block sampler runner that will allow you to try out many tools and quilting techniques. Starting in September, this class runs consecutively for 5 weeks. Sign up here
Quilted Coat Class- September 18th We will be constructing Quilted Coats from your own quilt, comforter or fabrics. The Hovea pattern is a great was to learn to make a fresh wardrobe item in time for our Montana fall and winter months. Sign Up Here Quilted Sneaker Class- September 26-27 This is a new class we are offering that allows you to make your own custom sneakers. This is a perfect gift (for men or women), a fun class to learn new skills or even just a place to come make new friends. So join us and make a one of a kind pair of sneakers while Gwen will walk you through the process. Sign ups will need to be completed by September 4th. Artist In You: An Experiment in Solvy Class- Aug 23 & 30 or Sept 12 & 19 If you have already taken Sue's Artist in You class you will love this version too! In this class you will be doing a blend of acrylic paint washes and fabric collage in order to create your one of kind wall hanging based on your own photograph. Down below are images of Sue's light house, and Gwen mid creation of her balloon fiesta image. Get ready to think outside of the box and experiment with color theory! *Pre-Requisite to taking this Solvy class, you must have taken the original Artist in you class. T-Shirt Quilt Class- Oct 17&18 Our t-shirt class is back! Join Marty as she shares her wisdom on how to create a one of a kind t-shirt quilt that is customised to you. In two sessions, you will learn how to cut out your t-shirts and assemble them so you have a quilt ready to go. It's never too soon to start that Christmas or graduation gift. We have just released a new fabric challenge! For $5 you are given a main challenge fabric, and a surprise fat quarter. You must use at least 50 percent of each fabric and turn it in before September 29th. There are more details on the rubric attached to your challenge fabric. Coming Soon: We have created a new fall quilt kit. It features brand new batiks that we have already cut into 2.5 inch strips for you. It is called the Fall Pathways Kit. Our sample is going to the quilter this week.
