MSQCo News- May 19th 2020
May 19, 2020
Hello Friends!
What happened to May? All of a sudden it's coming up on Memorial Day weekend and it feels like it's time for summer! We're getting ready for summer and fresh fabrics and projects. This week was filled with fun packages coming to the store... black batik fabrics back in stock, pre-cuts from Moda, new and different quilt patterns, large wool pressing mats, rotary blades and our second order of elastic arrived. If you had an elastic pre-order, it has been cut and we have called you for pickup. We have a little left to purchase right now and still more on order.
Montana's Governor Bullock is preparing to take Montana into Stage II of opening our state starting June 1st. The need for being responsible in being safe is still important so we ask that you not wear gloves in the store, use the hand sanitizer supplied at each of our doors and leave your food and drinks outside. While we are now able to have more people in the store, we ask that you still practice social distancing as much as possible and be considerate of others. Online orders will be fulfilled throughout the week and backdoor pickup still is available.
On the upside, we will be slowly expanding our hours to include Saturdays.
Starting Monday, June 1st:
Mon-Fri 12pm-4pm
Sat 10am-3pm
CLASSES:
We had a great weekend reconnecting and sewing with our friends again! My heart needed the camaraderie and laughter that comes with our classes. Thank you, dear ladies, for joining the fun! Our first class back in our classroom was a Mystery! Oh, how I wish I could show you the pix... This will have to do for now. I'm making plans to do a virtual version of this mystery class so no more hints :) Let me know if you are interested in this as a virtual class.
If you attended this past week's mystery class, per your request, I am already planning our next mystery weekend! I've been researching and now have to choose between three really good ideas. If you are interested in coming to the next Mystery Quilt Class, email info@mainstreetquiltingco.com and I'll get you on the interest list. I am planning on it for this coming fall/winter.
Foundational Learning Class 101- Quilting Basics: One of our favorite classes is being offered again with a summer session starting Tuesday, June 2-July 7 noon- 4pm. This is a good class for those wanting the basics of quilting. This six week class covers the same curriculum as the 12 week class but shortened for the summer. We have room left for two people to join us. We have lots of room to spread out in the classroom. Come join us! **Please note our 1 week delay**
**If you are signed up for any of the other classes we were offering in May and June, please check your email for more information. If you didn't get one, please call Gwen at the store.**
Birthday Club: We do have all the fabrics ready for groups 1- 3 to pick up. We are already getting blocks back and they are FUN!! I've been asked to start a group FOUR in Birthday Club. This is a great time to join us. Please email me ASAP- we would need 12 people to start another group. Call me! 406-586-6097 ** Look what Gloria did with her Birthday Blocks!
QUARANTINE QUILT SHOW- I have loved seeing how many quilts have been finished during this quarantine. Thanks for sharing them with me! You have impressed and inspired me to have a virtual quilt show. I will make a slide show to put in this newsletter of our Main Street Quilting Company customers quilts, wall hangings, place mats, bags, or anything anything you've been working on during your time at home. Yes, Masks can count :) Please send photos with a brief sentence of what inspired your creation to info@mainstreetquiltingco.com by June 5th.
