I hope that you have taken time to relax and enjoy this summer. I have tried to get back to a few things that I have let go of for a while. I can't say that I am very good at hitting that little white ball around a course, but am having fun doing it. I have enjoyed having several visitors so far as well. Spending time with family and friends is time very well spent.
Our first annual Indoor/Outdoor Quilt Show is quickly approaching and I am so excited with the plans that we have made. I hope that it will be an enjoyable time for all who can share the day with us.
As many of you know, Quilting in the Country is no longer hosting the annual outdoor quilt show. Well, I am excited to announce that there will still be a quilt show in Bozeman. Local shops have gotten together to plan a fantastic new venue. Save August 23rd on your calendar for Bozeman's first indoor/outdoor quilt show. The show will be held at The Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture from 10:00-5:00. They are located at 111 S. Grand Ave. There will be an antique show that the Emerson is hosting as well. We have many wonderful vendors, a quilt appraiser who is available for appointments for a fee, and will have hundreds of beautiful quilts on hand for your enjoyment. You may drop your quilts off on Sunday, August 10th from 12-4 and Wednesday, August 13th, also from 12-4 here at the store. If those times don't work out for you, please give me a call and we can make arrangements.
There will be free parking and shuttle service from Bozeman High on West Main to the Quilt Show. The shuttle will leave the high school beginning at 9:45 with stops at the Emerson, Main Street Quilting, Reproduction Fabrics, and the Silver Thimble, before heading back to the high school parking lot. The bus should be at the parking lot a quarter to every hour and at the Emerson at the top of every hour. The parking at the Emerson is limited, so please take advantage of the shuttle. Let us be your transportation for the day.
We are also having "SchoolHouse" sessions of demonstrations and lectures on Friday, August 22nd from 10:00 to 4:00 at the Emerson. The cost is $20 for all day and you can pick and choose the sessions you would like to take part in. Gail Bird with IGOLOCHKOY Punchneedle Embroidery with be giving workshops during the afternoon as well a more in depth class here at the store on Sunday after the show. Our very own Mimi Harris is teaching on Floor Quilts and will also have a class here at the store Sunday morning after the show. You may register here at the store and pre-registration is required. Join us for the day! It will be a great one!
If you are traveling to Bozeman for the show, be sure to follow the "Road to the Show". Participating stores throughout the state are taking part in a "Road to the Show" shop hop. This event takes place August 20-27th and there are several gift certificates to enter drawings for. The grand prize is $250 to be used at any participating store. I will have a link up in a day or two so that you can print out the list of stores to see on you way to the show.
So stop by often to see what's new. A friendly face will always be here to greet you.
In Stitches, Lisa
