Crazy Quilt Workshop

Contact store for class supply list.

Combine storytelling and stitching basics while learning the traditional art of Crazy Quilting.
Long used to preserved heirlooms, and capture the stories of a family history; quilters may create
a variety of finished pieces using this technique.
Base layer construction techniques as well as a wide range of embellishment options will be
included. Methods for embroidery, wool and fabric applique, and the use of buttons, lace, and
memorabilia are just a few of the many finishing options. Folded fabric designs, completed
needlework, and other completed handwork may also be added. The possibilities are endless.
Participants are asked to bring a wide range of embellishment pieces: buttons, lace, beads,
needlework pieces, clothing or fabric, jewelry, significant family treasures, photos transferred to
fabric, or any other found objects of interest to you. Almost anything will work.
Sewing machines are optional. All construction may be completed by hand. A sewing machine
may be used to construct the base layers, and will speed up that process. Embellishments are
largely added by hand.
